The NMSU Library Archives and Special Collections is currently open by appointment only. You can request an appointment through the Request for Research Materials form or by emailing archives@nmsu.edu. Please allow a 24-hour notice for appointments.

At the moment, the Branson Library Elevators are Temporarily Out of Service. Please use the public stairway to access the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. If you need assistance getting a book, visit the Branson 1st Floor Information Desk or call (575) 646-3101. If you need help using the Archives and Special Collections, call 575-646-3839 or email Archives. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Archives & Special Collections Duplication Services

The NMSU Library Archives and Special Collections is open to all researchers Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm during the Fall and Spring semesters.

We are open by appointment only during the Fall, Spring, and Summer breaks. Please request an appointment through the Request for Research Materials form or by emailing archives@nmsu.edu. Please allow 24-hour notice for appointments.

The Caroline E. Stras Research Room is located on the Branson Library's 4th floor. We are happy to provide virtual reference services for those who cannot visit our facility in person.

Archives & Special Collections can provide reference copies of documents and high-resolution scans of material found in the collections for a fee.

Payment

Before your order can be processed, payment must be received. (Check or money order payable to NMSU Library, credit card, or cash is accepted.) If paying by credit card, instructions for payment will be sent along with an invoice. All domestic credit card transactions are subject to a 2.95% processing service fee. International credit card payments are subject to a 4.25% processing fee. A minimum service fee of $3.00 will be charged for orders over $20.00 and less than $106.00.

Photographs Duplication Requests

  • Fill out and submit the online Duplication Request Form.
  • You will be notified by email and provided with an invoice for fees. (See our List of Library Fees & Charges. Prices will vary according to the item).
  • You will also need to complete and mail to us your signed copy of the Permission to Use form in order to obtain the department head's approval and signed consent for duplication of the requested items.
  • Once payment has been received and the order processed, you will receive it along with the completed request/permission to use the form, signed by the Archives & Special Collections department head.

Documents Duplication Requests

  • You will be notified by email and provided with an invoice for fees. (See our List of Library Fees & Charges. Prices will vary according to the item).
  • Once payment has been received, you will receive your order.
