Anthropology & Sociology
Students in Anthropology and Sociology may consult this guide for links to major websites in these subjects, and for information about other library resources (reference books, article databases, electronic journals, etc.). It is not intended as a comprehensive list, but as a guide to the best starting points for research.
Direct links are provided for resources that are available on
the WWW. Subscription databases are available to NMSU students, faculty
and staff and generally require that you go through the proxy server. When
connecting from a commercial internet service provider, you will be asked to
enter your social security number in order to access subscription databases and
electronic journals.
The following databases are especially useful for anthropology, sociology and
other social sciences. When the full text of articles is not included in the
database, students may use Interlibrary Loan,
http://libcgi.nmsu.edu/ClioWeb/Inside/ to request copies of articles.
Selected Reference Books
These reference books are located in ZUHL Library Reference area, unless noted otherwise. They will be listed in CALL NUMBER ORDER to facilitate browsing in the Reference Collection. [still being sorted!! September 11, 2003]
