NMSU Creative Media Institute student Xavier Romero will demonstrate a 3D mapping projection of Zuhl Library. The projection, part of Romero’s senior project, will take place at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, on the north side of Zuhl Library.
Romero will graduate this semester with a B.A. degree in Creative Media.
3D mapping is a new technique which 3D animators are now using to play with real world objects. Using 3D animation software, animators can create visual effects of buildings they create, and then using projectors, show the effects on a structure. The result is a real life illusion in which the 3D artist is able to make a real world structure appear to move and be manipulated in mind blowing ways.
