The New Mexico State University Library has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the United States Agricultural Information Network (USAIN) Preservation and Digital Library Committee to digitize New Mexico State University’s Agricultural Extension Service’s Special Reports, Extension Leaflets, and selected serials. The funding was made available through collaboration between USAIN, the national Agricultural Network Information Collaborative (AgNIC), and the Center for Research Libraries. Project Ceres (2014) aims to support projects that further the national effort to preserve historical agricultural information.
Researchers and the public already have free, online and searchable access to the full text and images of over 3,200 of NMSU’s Cooperative Extension Service Publications and Agricultural Experiment State Publications through the Library’s website http://lib.nmsu.edu/CES_AESPubs as well as through AgNIC.
