The New Mexico State University Library in collaboration with other supporting partners will be launching a campaign urging voters to consider the benefits of supporting Bond B this upcoming election. In-Person early voting starts October 18th and the general election is November 4th.
The 2014 G.O. (General Obligation) Bond B will allocate a projected $438,000 for NMSU’s main campus to support the updating of materials such as book and journal collections. Other locations in the NMSU Library system will also benefit from Bond B passage (all amounts are projected):
- Dona Ana will receive $97,395
- Alamogordo will receive nearly $27,943
- Carlsbad will receive $16,650
- Grants will receive $9,831
Allocations are based on the number of undergraduate and graduate students that are enrolled full time at each location. If approved by voters, the 2014 G.O. Bond B will enable academic libraries to meet research needs of faculty, students, and staff.
“The G.O. Bond B is an opportunity for voters to support their local publically funded libraries,” said Elizabeth Titus, Dean of the Library.
