The New Mexico State University Library has been awarded a $13,021 gift from the Robert E. and Evelyn McKee Foundation of El Paso, TX. The gift will be used to fund the purchase of over 200 titles from Momentum Press Digital Library, a collection of electronic engineering resources on subjects such as advanced energy engineering and technologies, applied mechanics, and civil and structural engineering. This collection will help users research engineering topics of their choice, offering a convergence of engineering, industry and innovation.
Engineering Librarian Paula Johnson said that these resources provide students, faculty and researchers with high quality content in a convenient Portable Document Format (PDF) that works with any mobile platform. There is no limit to simultaneous users and no plug-ins or passwords required. These e-books may also be uploaded to NMSU’s course management system, offering 24/7 access to supplemental course materials.
Recognizing that scholarly literature is a necessary and valuable research tool, the Robert E. and Evelyn McKee Foundation has generously supported the Library since 1995. Robert E. McKee is remembered as the “master builder” whose company, McKee General Contractors, constructed seven buildings on the NMSU campus.
