Library Supporter John Cordova Shares His Experiences
Aggie fans will notice that an ad in this week’s basketball program features Mr. John M. Cordova. Cordova is the Director of Sports Transaction Management for Coca Cola and a strong supporter of the NMSU Library.
Cordova was a student athlete who attended NMSU on a football scholarship and although his time with the football program kept him busy, he said that the Library helped to provide a place where he could focus and study, as he strongly believed in the value of his education.
Cordova earned a B.A. in Business Management (1980) and an M.B.A. (1982) from NMSU’s College of Business. He supports the Library both financially and by sharing his Library experiences with people.
He said, “As a student athlete during my time at NMSU, my time was limited and required structure. The NMSU Library became an integral element of my educational experience, because it provided the study atmosphere and educational resources I needed to complete my studies. In my day, if you needed to find me between the hours of 7 to 10 p.m., I was probably at the Library!”
Cordova continues to support the NMSU Library, so that it can continue to provide the level of excellence that he enjoyed to current and future generations of NMSU students.
Library Major Gift Officer April Anaya thanks Cordova for his loyalty and support, and encourages everyone to check out the basketball ad. For more information, contact Anaya at (575) 646-3642.
