Two NMSU Library faculty members, Dr. Nirmala Gunapala and Paula C. Johnson, have received an award from New Mexico’s Alliance for Innovation in Science and Technology Information (AISTI) Professional Development Program.
The $300 award will support their visit to the Los Alamos National Laboratory Research Library. They plan to learn about that library’s initiatives and activities and carry the knowledge back to NMSU to improve the NMSU Library’s sci-tech services and outreach to students and faculty.
Both Gunapala and Johnson joined the Library faculty as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) librarians in 2009.
The mission of AISTI is to acquire science and technology information and to create collaborative tool sets for researchers. Its Professional Development Program encourages visits between AISTI libraries.
For more information, contact Gunapala at (575) 646-5551 and Johnson at (575) 646-7251.
