Kate Manuel Joins NMSU Library Faculty

Kate Manuel is the new Instruction Coordinator for the New Mexico State University Library. Her office is
located in Zuhl Library.

Kate comes to NMSU from California State University, Hayward, where she was the Physical Sciences
reference and instruction librarian and taught for-credit information literacy courses for first-year students,
distance education students and upper-division Chemistry students. She previously worked at Gelman
Library, George Washington University and at Perkins Library, Duke University.

She has an M.S. in library and information science from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., an M.A.
in Classical Studies from Duke and a B.A. in Latin and Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame.

Kate’s research interests include student learning styles, techniques for assessing student learning and
electronic preprints. For fun, she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, jewelry making, and following professional
football.
