On Thursday, April 30, NMSU library faculty and staff participated in the NMSU Library’s Years of Service and Bonus Program awards at the its annual ceremony. The Carl Faubion Outstanding Library Staff Employee of the Year is given to an employee who has shown excellence in customer service, innovation, and exceptional contributions to the NMSU Library. The winner for 2015 was Archives and Special Collections Department staff member Teddie Moreno.
The NMSU Library recognizes exceptional performance above and beyond a faculty or staff member’s normal scope of assigned duties and responsibilities with Bonus Program Awards. Awarded for faculty member: Theresa Westbrock, Reference Department; for exempt staff member: Leticia Phetteplace, Administration Department; and for non-exempt staff member: Matthew Friedberg, Archives and Special Collections Department. The Team Award Program winners, recognized when a team has risen to meet a major challenge, were April Anaya, Susan Beck, Mary Covarrubias-Chavarria, Barbara Hart, Veronica Gomez, Christopher Landt, and Samantha Rich for their work on the Zuhl Student Study Areas.
Library student employees who are graduating were also recognized with dedicated bookplates in their name. From the Access Services Department: Olivia Badilla, Christopher Floyd, Lillian Filerio. From the Reference Department: Alice Avila, Cindy Rodriquez. From the Administration Department: Mireya Garcia, Carolina Herrera.
Lastly, the NMSU Library celebrates the years of service that employees give with honors announced every five years. Recognition given for 5 years of service go to Nirmala Gunapala, Paula Johnson and Ingrid Schneider. Recognition for 10 years of service goes to Martha Shipman Andrews and Ellen Bosman. Recognition for 15 years of service goes to Laurence Creider. Recognition for 20 years of services goes to Alice Granado, Barbara Hart, and Christopher Landt.
