Important! - Your thesis or dissertation must be approved by the thesis or dissertation committee and the Graduate Dean to be considered a final document at which point no changes can be made by the author.

Binding Instructions:

  1. Pay the binding fee at the cashier's office in the "Educational Services Center", next to the Pan Am Center (575)646-3927. (Keep your binding receipt)
    • Binding Fees:
      • 3 copies - $38.50
      • 4 copies - $48.50, (required by molecular biology students)
    • Binding of Personal Copies, (personal copies can be insured for an additional $3.00 per copy)
  2. Submit the following to NMSU Library - "Delivery Options" below
    • The Library Thesis/Dissertation Binding Form
    • 3 (or 4) unbound, edited, approved, and signed copies of your thesis/dissertation on 25%, 50% or 100% white cotton WATERMARKED bond paper with a plain finish. Copies submitted without the watermark are not acceptable!
    • Completed "Signature Page" signed by the Graduate School Dean and Examining Committee Chair person
    • CDs or DVDs need to have your name on them
    • Maps should not be folded, (the bindery will fold them)
  3. Doctoral students must also submit:
    • Completed UMI Dissertation Agreement (only pages 4 and 5 need to be printed and submitted).
    • Completed "Embargo Request Form" for those that are requesting an embargo, (For more information, see our Embargo policy)
    • Extra copy of Title Page and Abstract, (Regular copy paper is fine for this)
    • Money Order or Cashier's Check for $65, payable to 'ProQuest/UMI', (personal checks NOT accepted)
