  • American State Papers, 1789-1838
    • The American State Papers provides primary source material on many aspects of early American history from 1789 to 1838 and consists of approximately 6280 numbered publications, largely Congressional but also containing Executive Department materials, issued from 1832-1861. Unlike the U.S. Congressional Serial Set, the publications in the American State Papers are not divided into reports and documents and do not include House and Senate journals. Approximately two-thirds of the publications cover the first 14 Congresses (1789-1817), whereas the remaining third chronologically overlap with the Serial Set from 1817-1838.


  • Archive of Americana
    • The digital Archive of Americana is a family of comprehensive historical collections that allows researchers to discover and explore the United States in unprecedented depth and detail. The unique primary source materials offer opportunities for students and scholars to make original discoveries and new findings on nearly every aspect of the United States over nearly three centuries. The Archive of Americana includes: American State Papers, 1789-1838; the U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980; and the Serial Set Maps.


  • CQ Researcher
    • Each week CQ Researcher examines, in-depth, a single "hot" issue in the news. Topics range from social issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. There are 44 reports produced each year including four expanded reports. Online access from 1991-present. Full text issues are available from 1996 to the present.


  • Criminal Justice Abstracts
    • Comprehensive coverage of journals, books and agency reports in criminolgy and related discliplines. Topics include crime trends, prevention projects, corrections and juvenile delinquency. Coverage: 1968-present.


  • Environmental Impact Statements
    • Provides detailed abstracts of all the hundreds of environmental impact statements issued by the United States government, also indexing them from 1985 to the present for easy reference. From Cambridge Scientific Abstracts.


  • Government Periodicals Universe
    • Search for articles in government periodicals by keyword, author, title or agency. From the Congressional Information Service.


  • GreenFILE
    • GreenFILE offers scholarly, government and general-interest titles that cover all aspects of human impact on the environment. Specifically it includes content on the environmental effects of individuals, corporations and local/national governments, and what can be done on each level to minimize negative impact. Topics covered include global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. It is multidisciplinary, drawing on the connections between the environment and a variety of disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology.


  • Homeland Security Digital Library Collection
    • The HSDL Collection provides quick access to important U.S. policy documents, presidential directives, and national strategy documents as well as specialized resources such as theses and reports from various universities, organizations and local and state agencies.


  • Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
    • Full-text access to current news, business, legal, and reference information.


  • NCJRS Abstracts
    • The National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts Database contains summaries of more than 140,000 criminal justice publications, including Federal, State, and local government reports, books, research reports, journal articles, and unpublished research.


  • New York Times, 1851-2004
    • The New York Times (1851-2004) offers full page and article images with searchable full text back to the first issue. The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue.


  • PAIS
    • Index to the literature on public affairs. Coverage: 1972-present. Available from Cambridge Scientific Abstracts.


  • PAIS Archive
    • Older files for PAIS. 1915 - 1976; available from Cambridge Scientific Abstracts.


  • Serial Set Maps
    • Map images, records, and indexing for maps published in Reports and Documents of the 42nd Congress, 3rd session (1872) through the 52nd Congress, 1st session (1892).


  • U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980
    • Begun in 1817 as the official collection of congressional reports and documents, this collection was published in a "serial" fashion, hence its name. This digitized version from Readex includes congressional documents from the 15th (1817) through the 70th (1928) Congress. The complete set should be completed by Fall 2008.
