Endnote is a software program, available for Windows and Macintosh, used to manage bibliographic citations. Time-saving features allow you to transfer groups of references retrieved from online bibliographic databases into your EndNote database and create bibliographies in a variety of formats using Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.
The university does not have a site license for EndNote. Users are responsible for purchasing their own copy. EndNote is available for sale from the NMSU Bookstore, and other places where software is sold. You can Download a full-featured trial version of EndNote for free to try for 30 days or purchase a copy directly from the publisher of EndNote. The price is about $110 for students; ISI ResearchSoft does not offer a faculty discount.
Citations can be added to EndNote in one of three ways. New references can be created manually, importing through the Connection feature, imported via filters, or some databases allow direct exports into EndNote.
EndNote connection files allow researchers to search databases
consistently. Endnote comes with a large number of connection files to
libraries such as the Library of Congress.
In EndNote, click on Edit, go to Connection Files, the New
Connection...
To search the NMSU Library Catalog you will need to set up a connection profile.
