    EXAMPLES

    • Space travel has been written about for centuries but the Space shuttle is a recent invention.
    • War has been around since Homer was a pup but the Persian Gulf War is a fairly recent event.

Why not pick some general aspect of your final project topic?

      SOME MORE EXAMPLES

      FOREIGN LANGUAGES, LANGUAGES (bygone days)

Write down the subject headings under which you found relevant citations. Try to find relevant citations under more than one subject heading. In the space below, note these subject headings

  3. Repeat #2 above but this time look in another index. DO NOT use the Readers' Guide

Did you find any relevant citations? _____________________________

If yes, list all the subject headings under which you found these citations

    _____________________________________________

    _____________________________________________

  4. Repeat #2 above but this time look in several volumes of the Readers' Guide (at least 3) covering years 1950 or before. Assuming you found relevant citations, in what years were the cited articles published?
