British Pathe - collection includes 3,500 old newsreels, dating from the early 1900s through 1970. higher quality versions of these resources are offered for sale ($16-$78/clip), but low-resolution previews are free.

CNN Video - includes video clips relating to current U.S. and world issues. CNN now requires a subscription ($4.95/month or $39.95/year) to view videos, but does include good coverage of current events.
