"Out of the Shadows: The Women of Southern New Mexico" Exhibit
Location: Milton Gallery, Fourth Floor, Branson Library
Photos from the Rio Grande Historical Collections and Hobson-Huntsinger University Archives give witness to the experiences of women of Southern New Mexico as they helped to settle the mountains and deserts between 1880 and 1920. The same photos were used in archivist Martha Andrews' 2012 book "Out Of the Shadows: The Women of Southern New Mexico." The exhibit will run from March 18 to October 15, 2013.
"Digitizing NMSU's Agricultural Extension Service Publications" Exhibit
In the Branson Library Lobby:
On display are historical and unique documents that have been produced for more than 100 years to provide research-based information about agriculture, health, economics, family life and natural resources. Many of these paper publications are in fragile condition, with permanent creases and tears, leading to the possibility of restricted access.
The Library has embarked upon a project to digitize these documents to increase access and help preserve the collection.
