Acquisitions Services

[divider]

The Acquisitions Services department is responsible for acquiring the scholarly information resources to support the teaching, research and service missions of the University. New materials in many formats (books, journals, microforms, videos, computer databases, etc.) are purchased and added to the library collections. Acquisitions Services manages the $2.7 million materials budget of the Library.

In addition to acquiring new materials, Acquisitions Services provides the framework for cooperative collection development decisions and processes between teaching faculty and the library. In the area of technical services, the department manages several important processes:

[BUTTON] Departmental Library Liaisons and Library Fund Managers for 2001-2002
Library and departmental contacts for adding materials to the library's collections
[BUTTON] Bindery
Prepares theses, dissertations, books and journal issues for binding
