The five full-time members of the Processing Unit are in charge of cataloging and processing many special and unique items.

  • catalog new titles
  • correct existing bibliographic records i.e. title ceases, changes, etc.
  • create and update serials summary holdings
  • make item specific records for bound volumes returned from bindery
  • consult on special projects i.e. PAN links project
  • answer questions regarding serials from users
[button] New Mexico State Documents
  • catalog new titles
  • process New Mexico state depository shipments
  • acquire publications direct from the state agencies
  • update Zia-Docs website
  • act as consultant on questions regarding state documents
  • maintain & preserve state documents collection as regulated by the New Mexico State Library

  • catalog new titles
  • act as selector for Music
  • update Carl Maria von Website
  • act as consultant on questions regarding music
Special Projects
  • original cataloging for German and Russian language publications
  • catalog materials for the Southwest Center for Codes & Standards
  • retrospective conversion of older materials
  • assist and consult with the Government Documents unit for selection/deletion of bibliographic records, rush downloading of records, call number problems, item records, etc.
  • download into the online catalog the New Mexico historic newspapers, as cataloged by the U.S. Newspaper project
  • process added volumes and copies
  • catalog United Nations documents
