Assessment Plan

General Statement
New Mexico State University Library strongly supports using assessment tools to measure student learning outcomes, student experience outcomes, and mission-related outcomes. The Library's assessment activities focus on the functions of an academic research library in relation to the communities it services.

Assessment Cycles
Many of New Mexico State University Library's assessment activities are ongoing and cyclical, e.g., peer group comparisons, student learning outcomes, student experience outcomes, etc. (see table below).  However, there are occasions where assessment is done to determine the impact of change made in a specific targeted service area within a specified time frame. See current year's New Mexico State University Library's Strategic Directions Targets for details on short-term assessment activities.
