Library Lists Serial Titles to Add and Cancel

In Spring 2007, the NMSU Library initiated a Serials Collection Review and Assessment Project (SCRAP) in which it reviewed all 2,877 titles in its current serials collection. The goal of this project was to more closely align its collection with the current research and curricular needs on campus.

The Library solicited input from the campus community on its serials collection, asking participants to prioritize titles by order of importance. Over the summer, the Library reviewed responses along with various other factors such as cost, use and availability in other formats to reach the decisions on renewal.

Based on this review, as well as user input, the Library has come up with lists of titles to add and cancel, effective January 2008. Please review these lists at http://lib.nmsu.edu/scrap/finallists.shtml and direct comments, concerns or questions by Tuesday, September 25, 2007, to Susan E.
