NMSU Library Announces Talks on Biodiversity
The New Mexico State University Library is sponsoring two presentations on the theme of biodiversity. The free public programs will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, and Thursday, September 24, in Room 225 on the second floor of Zuhl Library.
Dr. Donovan Bailey from NMSU's Biology Department will speak on September 16 on "Species Diversity-The Past, Present, and Future."
Dr. Brook Milligan, also from the Biology Department, will speak on September 24. The title of his presentation is "From Local Butterflies to International Wildlife Trade: Harnessing Genomics to Study Biodiversity."
The talks, part of the NMSU Library's celebration of the 2009 Year of Science, will be of interest to high school and college students, as well as the general public. Refreshments will be served.
The programs are being organized by science librarians Paula Johnson, Cindy Watkins and Dr. Nirmala Gunapala.
