Donor Appreciates Librarian's Courtesy

The New Mexico State University Library recently received a gift of $200 from a NMSU alumnus who visited campus on Saturday, October 21, during NMSU's Homecoming Week 2006. He approached librarian Cindy Watkins who was on weekend duty at the Zuhl Library reference desk, engaged in a conversation with her and asked her for assistance in finding an item of information.

With the aid of student employees at the Circulation Desk, Watkins learned that the item was not in the Library. She walked with the man to the College of Engineering, where it was located. The following week, he sent his gift to the Library and commented to others about the "nice lady" who had helped him.

"We try to go the extra mile to help everyone who asks us for information," said Watkins.
