Exhibit on History and Art of the Book is at Branson Library
An exhibit on the history and art of the book is now on display in the lobby of Branson Library. The exhibit will run through mid-September.
The exhibit showcases the work of students in Art 394/595, an innovative Book Arts Intensive class offered at New Mexico State University for the first time this summer.
In the class, students explored the history of the book, its place in the modern world and the changing definitions of what constitutes a book.
The class was taught by NMSU art professor Mark Nero.
The unique books and papers on display show how the students in this class explored, developed and created books as objects, environments and containers for communicating in physical, textural and visual ways.
For more information, please contact Nero at (505) 646-7550 or Deborah Parker at (505) 646-1854.
