Library Presents Talk on the Evolution of Birdsong
The NMSU Library is sponsoring a program, "Babel's Birds: Avian Vocal Traditions and Cultural Evolution," at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, in Room 225 of Zuhl Library. The talk is free and open to the public.
The program will be presented by Dr. Timothy F. Wright of NMSU's Biology Department, who will talk about "parrot dialect-ics" and other aspects of his research.
The presentation is part of the NMSU Library's celebration of the 2009 Year of Science. November commemorates Charles Darwin and evolution. The programs are being organized by science librarians Paula Johnson, Cindy Watkins and Dr. Nirmala Gunapala.
