NMSU Library Announces T-Rex Tour and Tea

A free public tour of the Zuhl Geological Collection will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 at NMSU's Zuhl Library.

The tour, conducted by curator Meredith Durr, will feature the world-class collection of petrified wood, fossils and minerals displayed at the Library. "Stan," a full-size cast of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull, will greet visitors at the door.

Tea and refreshments will be served and certificates of attendance will be available upon request.

The tour continues the Library's celebration of the Year of Science. October is geoscience month. An often misunderstood science, geoscience is the culmination of ideas from physics, chemistry and biology which are used to understand the history and dynamic nature of our planet.

The Zuhl Geological Collection is on display at the Library thanks to the generosity of donors Herbert and Joan Zuhl. The Zuhls gave the naming gift for Zuhl Library.

The Library's Year of Science programs are being organized by science librarians Paula Johnson, Cindy Watkins and Dr. Nirmala Gunapala.
