New Mexico State University's Zuhl Museum announces a December holiday open house from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28.
The open house, which will have fun activities for children, is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
The museum is located on campus at 775 College Drive in the NMSU Alumni and Visitors Center near the windmills and next to the university police station. Visitor parking is free and easy.
The Zuhl Museum features a world-class collection of fossils. There are dinosaur bones and eggs, ammonites, turtles, an ichthyosaur, a dragonfly, a bat and much more. The collection also includes much petrified wood of many colors, species, shapes and sizes.
There are many beautiful minerals in the collection. These include familiar minerals such as amethyst, rhodochrosite, garnet and malachite, as well as less familiar ones such as stibnite.
