Qualifications: NO TYPING TEST REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

DAYS/HOURS WORKED: MON-FRI, 8AM-5PM. (40 HOURS-FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE AS PER NMSU LIBRARY POLICY #004). THIS IS A BARGAINING UNIT POSITION WITH AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY & MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES. (AFSCME)

REQUIRED: Two (2) years of college level study; four (4) years academic library experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities described below.

Must interact appropriately and inclusively with others. Understands the visions, missions and goals of the Library and the University and recognizes the importance of the individual position within this organizational framework. Under general supervision of Processing Archivist assist in arrangement and description of collections backlog within the Rio Grande Historical Collections (including: accessioning, cataloging, shelving and retrieving collections) these collections include (but not limited to) video tapes, motion picture film, architecture drawings, audio tapes, microfilm, photographs, and books. Assist in completion of copy and reference requests, complete regularly assigned shifts on reference desk. Perform other duties as assigned.
